In collaboration with area residents, the Department of Neighborhoods helps to drive neighborhood planning by moving community ideas from inspiration to implementation. Delivering on Mayor Andrew J. Ginther’s commitment to every Columbus neighborhood, the Department helps to resolve community concerns by tapping into neighborhood potential and coordinating with City departments.
Community Relations Commission
The Department protects the rights of Columbus residents through the investigation of discrimination complaints, mediation, and other voluntary options to help eliminate discrimination and remove the effects of past discrimination within the City of Columbus.
The Commission on Black Girls
Black Girls and Women are resilient, despite the race and gender driven disparities complicating their lives. The Commission on Black Girls is a definitive step forward in taking community action to improve the quality of life for Black Girls and thus our society.
My Brother's Keeper
My Brother’s Keeper (MBK), a nationwide initiative founded by former President Barack Obama, seeks to expand opportunities for boys and young men of color, creating ‘cradle to career’ strategies for achieving important milestones in life. The MBK Summit and Conference provides opportunities for young men to enhance their knowledge and skills.
Neighborhood liaisons serve as your direct link to city services and provide support for area commissions. They are located in Neighborhood Pride Centers in each region of Columbus. Liaisons work with residents, city officials, and civic organizations to empower residents to improve their neighborhoods.
Rise Up CBUS!
Rise Up CBUS! is a new program of the Department of Neighborhoods that showcases the work of Opportunity Rising, Mayor Andrew J. Ginther's aspirations for every Columbus resident to equitably prosper and grow.

The 311 Customer Service Center makes life easier for Columbus residents by providing easy access to City services and resources. From reporting a pot hole to requesting bulk pick up, 3-1-1 is an easy, one-stop source for residents.
