Emmanuel V. Remy

Serving on Columbus City Council since 2018, Remy has worked to meet and better understand the needs of each neighborhood in Columbus. During his tenure, Remy combatted litter and illegal dumping, fostered diversity in City hiring, and strengthened Welcoming and resettlement work.

In 2023, Remy chaired the Public Safety Committee where he led multiple hearings to address alternative crisis response and violence prevention. He took part initiatives like investing $20.1 million in summer youth grants and the “Love Our Children, Lock Your Guns” program to distribute thousands of free gun locks to Columbus residents. Remy also led the approval of $500,000 of funding for LSS CHOICES, the only domestic violence shelter in Franklin County.

This year, Councilmember Remy will chair the newly structured Public Safety & Criminal Justice committee and vice-chair the Public Utilities & Sustainability committee.

In addition to serving on Council, Remy works as a Realtor, specializing in the residential market to help buyers realize their dreams. He also serves on the Greater Columbus Arts Council and is heavily involved in the National League of Cities. Prior to joining Council, Remy spent six years as the president of the Northland Community Council (NCC). Remy and his wife Liz, live in the Northland neighborhood with their three children.
