Details: On Tuesday October 17, 2017 at approximately 10:40 p.m. the Columbus Division of Police received a call and were requested to respond to the area Sullivant Ave. and S. Central Ave. The initial information indicated that a person was "down and out". A male victim later identified as Michael A. Scarberry was located and transported to Mount Carmel West Hospital by CFD Medic 10. It was later determined he was kicked and punched by 4 to 5 unknown males. His condition continued to deteriorate over the past week. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on October 29th at 8:14 p.m. At this time there are no known suspects or motives.

Details: On Friday October 27, 2017 at approximately 8:08 p.m. the Columbus Division of Police received a call and were requested to respond to the area of S. Hamilton Rd. near Melroy Ave. The initial information indicated that a person was shot. A male victim later identified as Dwaynel Howard was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. At the time of this release his condition has not improved. On Saturday October 28th at approximately 6:05pm, Dwaynel Howard succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced by doctors at Grant Medical Center.

Details: On Tuesday October 24, 2017 at approximately 3:13 p.m. the Columbus Division of Police received multiple calls and were requested to respond to the area of N. Cassady and Agler Rd. The initial information indicated that one person was inside of a vehicle that had crashed. It was later determined this victim had been shot just prior to the crash at Agler Rd. and Citygate. A male victim later identified as Mr. Mohamud was then transported to Grant Medical Center by CFD Medic 28. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced at 3:41 p.m.

Details: On Tuesday October 17, 2017 at approximately 8:42 p.m., the Columbus Division of Police received multiple calls and were requested to respond to the area 4951 Majestic Dr. N. regarding multiple gunshots that were heard. A few minutes later information indicated that a person was shot. A male victim later identified as William M. Brown Jr. was transported from 4968 Majestic Dr. N. to Grant Medical Center by the Columbus Division of Fire Medic 23. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 9:21 p.m.

The initial information indicated that a person was shot. A male victim later identified as Ulrich M. Smith was transported to Grant Medical Center by the Columbus Division of Fire. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 9:26 p.m.

Details: On August 27, 2017 at approximately 4:43 p.m. officers were dispatched to Mt. Carmel West Hospital on a walk-in shooting victim. The victim, Joshua Lucas was shot one time in the upper body. He was driven to Mt. Carmel West Hospital and treated for his serious injury. The Assault Squad initially investigated this incident. Mr. Lucas succumbed to his injuries on October 8th.
