Details: On June 26, 2023, at 6:05pm, Patrol responded to a shot spotter report in the 1600 Block E 26th Ave. Upon arrival, they located two gunshot victims. One victim, E.P. M/B/32, was transported to Grant Hospital in critical condition, and is expected to recover from his injuries. A second victim, James Cunningham M/B/31, was located in the rear of a residence in the 1600 block of East 26th Ave, and he was pronounced deceased by CFD EMS 13 at 6:15pm. Preliminary investigation revealed that this incident might have emanated from a disturbance between the involved parties. Investigators interviewed multiple person(s) of interest, including Thomas Hampton M/B/31. Thomas Hampton was identified as the individual responsible for causing the death of the victim, and the assault of the victim. Investigators charged Thomas Hampton with murder and felonious assault, and he was transported to the Franklin County Jail.

Details: On Monday, June 19, 2023, at 4:17AM, Columbus Police Officers were called to the 900 block of N. 4th St. A passerby called in to report the body of a deceased male, lying near the dumpsters, in the rear parking lot of one of the businesses. On arrival, officers found the decedent, an adult male, who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. CFD Medic and EMS 10 responded and pronounced the male deceased at 4:27AM.

Details: On June 18, 2023, at 5:16 PM, Columbus Police officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Canonby Pl. on a reported shooting. Upon arrival, the officers located an adult female, identified as Z.B., F/B/21, and a juvenile male, identified as A.B., M/B/16, suffering from gunshot wounds. Columbus Fire medics arrived and transported A.B. to a local hospital in critical condition. Z.B. was pronounced deceased by Columbus Fire medics at 5:24 PM.

Details: On June 16, 2023, at 12:33am, Patrol Officers responded to the 1400 Block of South 5th Street on a female victim, E.D., reporting an assault. The victim also reported that the suspect would not allow her to leave. Upon arrival, Officers located the suspect, John Doe M/B/39, lying on the front porch unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound. The suspect was pronounced deceased at scene by CFD Medic 14. The victim was transported to a local Hospital to be treated for her injuries. Investigators are still attempting to determine the circumstances of this incident. The suspect's name will be released upon the completion of the notification of the next of kin.

Details: On Saturday, June 10, 2023, at approximately 3:38 PM Columbus Police Patrol personnel were dispatched to the 100 block of N. Guilford Ave. on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival they located an unidentified male in the alley suffering from gunshot wounds. CFD Medic 890 personnel responded and pronounced the male deceased at scene. Preliminary investigation indicates the shooting stemmed from an argument. The investigation is ongoing, the name of the person of interest is being withheld pending further investigation.

CFD Medic 16 transported Jones to Grant Medical Center in critical condition, where Jones was pronounced deceased at 2:46PM.

Details: On June 5, 2023, at approximately 12:43pm, officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Brooke Colony Dr on the report of a shooting. Officers arrived at scene and found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Columbus Fire Medic #32 transported the victim to a local hospital, in critical condition. Despite receiving life-saving medical treatment, the victim succumbed to her injury and was pronounced deceased at 3:02pm.

Upon arrival at the scene, the victim was located with a gunshot wound. The victim was subsequently transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injury. At this time, the circumstances of this shooting are unknown and detectives continue to investigate. No suspects have been identified.

Details: On June 1, 2023, at 10:15 PM, Columbus Police officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Morse Rd. on a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, identified as J.M., in the parking lot of this business. J.M. reported to officers that he had just been robbed at gunpoint by two suspects, one of whom has been identified as JUAN M. J. CUARENTA, M/H/19. CUARENTA was found by officers suffering from a gunshot wound after being shot by an armed security officer just after the robbery occurred. The officers rendered medical aid to CUARENTA prior to the arrival of medics. CUARENTA was transported by Columbus Fire medics in critical condition to a local hospital and was pronounced deceased at 11:12 PM.

Upon arrival officers located the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at 8:23PM at scene. There is no known motive at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
