Details: On October 17, 2023, at approximately 1:54 AM, Columbus Police Patrol officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Divot Place on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival they located Mr. Anthony Cato outside on the sidewalk suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Mifflin Township Medic 132 personnel transported Mr. Cato to a local hospital. Mr. Cato did not survive his injuries, and was pronounced deceased at 5:18 AM. Two persons of interest were detained at the scene and interviewed by detectives.

Details: On October 16, 2023, at 9:12 AM, Columbus Police officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Basil Dr. on a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found one victim, identified as FRED D. LITTLE, M/B/56, suffering from a gunshot wound. Columbus Fire medics arrived and pronounced LITTLE deceased at 9:20 AM.

Details: On October 14, 2023, patrol officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Midway Ave on the report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers checked the vehicle and found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Hamilton Twsp Medic 171 arrived and pronounced the individual deceased at 7:55am.

Details: On Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 4:31AM, Matthew Hurt, 39, was found unresponsive in the 1300 block of Morse Rd. Medics responded and pronounced Hurt deceased at 4:39AM. Later that morning, during a post mortem examination the Franklin County Coroner’s Office found signs of foul play and ruled Hurt’s death a homicide. Hurt’s death is now being investigated by the Columbus Division of Police Homicide Unit.

Details: On October 8, 2023, at approximately 11:14 PM, Columbus Police Patrol officers were dispatched to the 800 Block of North Wilson Road on the report of a shooting. Officers arrived at scene and found an unidentified male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Columbus Fire Medic #817 personnel pronounced the victim deceased at scene at 11:21 PM. Security at scene detained the suspect, Mr. Jibril Kim, until he was taken into custody by responding officers. Mr. Kim was subsequently charged with Murder.

Details: On Sunday, October 8, 2023, at 4:57PM, Columbus Police Officers were called to the 200 block of Buffalo Ct. on a report of a shooting. On arrival, officers found two adults suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The first adult, the decedent, was in a gray sedan that had crashed into the tree line just north of the dispatched location. This adult was pronounced dead at scene by CFD Medic 22 at 5:06PM. The second adult was found in a nearby apartment and was transported from the scene by medics in critical condition. This adult’s condition was later upgraded to stable.

Details: On October 5, 2023, at 9:22am, patrol officers were dispatched to the 6000 block of Lake Club Ct on two persons shot. Upon arrival, they found Adult #1 and Adult #2 inside an apartment unresponsive. CFD EMS 16 pronounced both adults deceased at 9:31am.

Details: On September 21, 2023, a missing person’s report was filed. The Missing Persons Unit's investigation indicated this incident may involve foul play. On September 24, 2023, the Homicide Unit was asked to assist with the investigation. Evidence collected during the investigation implicated Michael T. Bowles and Russell Madison-Hargrove as being involved in a homicide. Several other individuals have been charged as a result of this investigation.
