Elizabeth Ave Area Water Line Improvements

CIP# 690236-100132

This project will be constructed as part of the Division of Water’s (DOW) Replacement and Rehabilitation (R&R) Program. The water line project is the Mid-East Area (see map(PDF, 499KB)).

The goal of this project is to replace existing 6-inch and 8-inch water mains that have a high break frequency with new water mains. Replacement of these water mains will improve water service, decrease burden on water maintenance operations, and reduce water loss.

The project will include approximately 9,500 linear feet of water main replacement. This project will also abandon existing and redundant 2-inch water mains with high break frequency. Along with the abandonment of old water mains and installation of new water mains, the project will also include new fire hydrant installations and water service transfers.

Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2024 and end in the spring of 2025.

Prior to construction, the Neighborhood Liaisons will be contacted and informed of the project. Further community outreach may result though the Neighborhood Liaison Program. Notification letters will also be mailed out in advance to residents located near the project area. These letters will provide detailed information regarding the project and important contact numbers.

DOW plans to fund this project with a below market-rate loan through the Ohio EPA’s Water Supply Revolving Loan Account (WSRLA) Program.  Prior to granting this loan, the Ohio EPA required a detailed submittal from the Division of Water to determine the project’s eligibility for the program.

The Ohio EPA has completed a Limited Environmental Review (LER) for this project. View the LER(PDF, 794KB) and the letter of "Notice of Issuance of a Limited Environmental Review and Finding of No Significant Impact”
