Christopher L. Wyche

During his first term on City Council, Councilmember Wyche is committed to making Columbus a green hub that utilizes sustainable practices in energy, housing, and transportation. This year Wyche will chair the Public Utilities & Sustainability committee and will vice-chair Neighborhoods, Recreation, and Parks.

Prior to joining City Council, Wyche spent five years working in the non-profit sector, first as the Corporate Relations Manager for the United Way of New England, then as the Development Manager for City Year Columbus, a local education-focused non-profit dedicated to helping students and schools succeed. As an advocate for public-private partnerships, he served for nine years as Director of External Affairs for AT&T in Central Ohio, where he spearheaded many local initiatives aimed at making tech training and equipment more accessible to underserved communities, including a Digital Drop Off Day, and statewide coding and app development workshops in collaboration with local nonprofits to provide workforce development training to under-resourced students.

Outside of Council, Councilmember Wyche currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the second oldest Historically Black College or University (HBCU) in Ohio, Central State University, and is an active member of the Brookside Village Community Association.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economic Management from Ohio Wesleyan University. As a father of three to his two daughters Mariah and Lulu Elizabeth, and his son Benjamin Elijah, he has a personal stake in the future of our communities. Wyche lives in North Columbus with his wife of ten years, Julia and their kids.
