Mayor Andrew J. Ginther announced a number of changes to his cabinet and staff in the coming weeks:

  • Chris Moses has accepted the role of Human Resources director, effective immediately. Chris has done an exceptional job leading the department since Nikki Brandon left in January. He has been with the city for more than eight years and helped develop COVID policies and retirement incentives while also leading three cycles of collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Carla Williams-Scott will be stepping down as Director of Neighborhoods on May 3, 2024. She will work as a special advisor to Chief of Staff Elon Simms through August. Carla has served in her role since Mayor Ginther created the office in 2016. During her tenure, she successfully relocated the Department to the Point of Pride building in Linden, handled a complete overhaul of 311 customer service center and completed neighborhood plans in Linden and the Hilltop, along with starting work on Eastland that is on track to be completed by the end of the year. Todd Dieffenderfer will serve as acting director.
  • Robin Davis, Deputy Chief of Staff of Communications, is leaving the city to accept a position with Experience Columbus. She has been the spokesperson for Mayor Ginther for more than eight years, during some of the most difficult times the city has ever experienced. Her last day is April 12.
  • Jennifer Fening, Deputy Director in Development, will be step into the Deputy Chief of Staff of Communications role in the Mayor’s Office. She has a proven track record in strategic communications with Smart Columbus before joining the Department of Development, where she has been leading community engagement for Zone In as well as the city’s public art plan. Her first day will be April 22.

“A new term brings many changes, including staffing,” said Mayor Ginther. “I am deeply grateful to Robin for her years of service to me and the residents of Columbus, and wish her nothing but the best at Experience Columbus. I appreciate Chris, Jennifer and Carla for their willingness to step into new roles as we continue to move Columbus forward.”
